Defending Kate Walsh.

Well, our favorite religious lunatics on the right are at it again. Once again they show exactly how tolerant they are of opposing views. Who am I kidding? They're showing how tolerant they are of facts. Kate Walsh is a supporter of Planned Parenthood and a member of their board of advisors. She has done many things for Planned Parenthood in the past and is considered a great voice in the pro-choice community. Bristol Palin is the daughter of everybody's favorite ex-governor, Sarah Palin. Bristol Palin had a child before she finished high school. Bristol Palin is an expert on abstinence. Of all of the things I just stated, the "Bristol Palin is an expert on abstinence" is the falsehood. Now what do these two have to do with each other? Well Bristol was set to speak to the students of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri about abstinence. The students did not want her there at all. Can you blame them? Would you want someone who knows so little about abstinence to lecture you about it? I didn't think so. Not to mention that Bristol Palin was going to get paid for the engagement. $20,000 is a lot of money to pay someone for a hypocrite session. Well, the engagement was cancelled. This is what landed Kate Walsh right in the middle of this. This is a tweet she released on the matter, responding to someone who wanted her to boycott Bristol Palin with them.

"Welcome to the Idiocracy! RT @elliekirsh: @katewalsh please join students at Wash.U. to boycott Bristol Palin ’s speech on abstinence. What does she know about college or abstaining?"

Now first things first. Bristol knows nothing about college because she's not in college. Second, she knows nothing about abstinence because, well you know. If anything, she is an example that abstinence does NOT work. I know that may be a little bit too much for the religious right to understand, but it's true. Since then, a lot of people have been upset with Kate Walsh. Her facebook page has turned into a warzone. If you take a look at her page you'll see people talking about boycotting her. You'll see people criticize her for her support of Planned Parenthood. The weird thing is that they look at Planned Parenthood and just see abortion. They pay no attention to the other things that PP does for women and men. Here's why they don't. These people believe that when a woman consents to sex, she consents to pregnancy. They believe that when a woman gets pregnant, she should be required to have the baby. They don't care about the life of the mother. If a woman is raped or is a victim of incest, then just have the baby and put it up for adoption. These are their beliefs. The GOP is already trying to re-define rape. A woman can have an abortion in the case of rape, but only if the rape is forceful. All rape is forcefull. These people are misogynists. These people look down on women who understand that they have a right to choose. Look at what they are trying to do to Kate Walsh. It's astonishing how sexist they are. All we can do is stand by Kate Walsh, the students of Washington University, and every woman who understands her rights. Abstinence does not work as well as the religious right thinks it does. They don't want sexual education in the schools but they have no problem wanting teachers to to read the bible or teach creationism. It's hypocrisy at it worst and it's something they know more about than anybody.

Sarah Palin - Victim In Chief

She did it. I can't believe she did, but she did it. Sarah Palin has found a way to become the victim in a situation in which people actually died. Of course if you aren't aware of the shooting in Tuscon, Arizona, you either are in another country or under a rock. Anyway, when the shooting occured, it was completely about the victims. Congresswoman Giffords was one of those who were shot and at this moment, she's doing better. However, it only took a day for the conservative machine to do what they do best. Politicize the incident, condemn others for doing the same, and make their beloved leader the victim. I'm talking about you Sarah.

So Sarah Palin, a person who wasn't even in Arizona the day of the shooting, is now the primary victim. I think it's fair to say that those who believe Sarah Palin is a victim in this are as dumb as a brick and that's an insult to bricks. Not once has anybody accused Sarah of shooting someone, or giving Jared Loughner the gun, or telling him to go shoot people. However, Sarah knows better than that. When people were discussing the tone of political debate, Sarah saw that as an attack on her. Very classy ma'am. It gets worse. Pat Buchanan, MSNBC's token conservative who more and more seems like the crazy old guy in the corner at a retirement homw talking about the good old days of slavery and witch burnings, actually thinks that Sarah is a victim. Why is that?

Sarah Palin made a huge mistake (as if that's a surprise) last year when she released a political map with crosshairs on specific locations that the republicans could hope to gain seats in. Why is this important? It's important because one of those locations just so happened to have Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' name on it. Weird right? Not to mention that last year, Gabrielle Giffords went on MSNBC to discuss Sarah Palin's targetboard. Well, the rest is history. Now, because Sarah Palin was stupid enough to pull that little stunt, and because her supporters were just as dumb by not telling her how bad of an idea it is, she has become the victim. Makes perfect sense right?

All was not lost for Mrs. Palin. She had a chance to score a political win (in the eyes of her right wing buddies at least) by just coming out and pledging to pull back on the violent rhetoric. Once again, Sarah found a way to play the victim. She thought it would be a bright idea to release a video in which she said everything but what she needed to say. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for her, she compared what was kinda actually not happening to her to a "blood libel" which if you do your homework, you'll know how offensive it is to jews. Maybe it wouldn't have been so bad if Sarah Palin wasn't a christian and Gabrielle Giffords wasn't jewish. Once again, you prove to us you are an idiot Sarah. By the way, it's "pundit" not "pundint."

So while madam Sarah played victim, her arch enemy President Obama delivered a fantastic speech at the memorial for the victims on Wednesday. Now nobody was expecting Sarah to deliver a speech like President Obama because that would be impossible. Not only would she have to write down things on her hand, she'd probably spell and say things wrong (refudiate anybody?) All she had to do was denounce violent rhetoric and she couldn't even do that. Now, she has gone running back to her buddy Sean Hannity. Hannity will be sure to ask her tough questions. Ok i'm just jerking you. Have you seen Hannity when he interviews Sarah Palin? It's like he's waiting for the right moment to jump over and have sex with her. This is the "hard hitting" journalism of Fox News everybody.

This is another chance for Sarah to do the smart thing and take a stand against violent and hateful rhetoric. Of course she isn't going to do it. The only reason she and conservatives like her have been defensive about this is because they are suffering from this five lettered word called "guilt." They know that they have been the masters of inciting violence and they would rather you not look at them during this situation. You can expect Sarah to say things along the lines of "Well they do it too" and "It's not my fault." Anybody who believes that liberals incite violence like conservatives do is insane. Once again, nobody has blamed Sarah Palin, except one of the victims. I suppose the vicitm is a part of the liberal smear machine too. I would like to see Sarah Palin survive this mess that she put herself in because someone else kinda actually didn't put her in it first. This is a huge mess for the Alaskan Quitter. She failed as a governor, a vice-presidential candidate, and as a reality TV star. I could say she failed as a parent, but i'd be crossing the line, even though she was more focused on preventing sex-ed in the schools and less focused on teaching that to her fantastic daughter Bristol. Even though she has a raging homophobe for a daughter in Willow. It seems like her 15 minutes of fame is finally coming to an end.
